purchases i now regret NOT making...
-the beige leather loafers at Banana Republic in Honolulu
-the brown Emilio Pucci bag on bluefly
-the 14 kt. white gold knot earrings at Lord & Taylor
-the Betsey Johnson aviator sunglasses also at Lord & Taylor
-the multi-colored striped silk Coach ballet slippers at Carson's that's it for now.

i've decided i need a pair of loafers for work/school that aren't big and clunky. the black leather ones i've been wearing in the past are not going to work anymore. any ideas where i can find my shoes? gosh, i seriously have a shopping problem.

you wanna know something? big white guy on UNC plays pretty well when he's not wearing the mask. I think UNC has a good shot to go all the way. seriously. and now, that OSU and UW have both had scares to bottom ranked teams (damn Texas A&M-Corpus Christi for not pulling the upset!), i think they are OVERRATED. And even though MSU was ranked 9th, MSU always is able to pull the upset (think back 2 tourneys ago when MSU beat Duke. grrr....) Mr.Izzo puts a good roster up an I swear, Drew Neitzel (or however you spell his name) has been in the NCAA FOREVER. So I foresee some happy tar heel fans.

okay, that's it for now.
blog later.

i haven't watched a single Duke game ALL year. Seriously. I haven't caught ANY games on television because I no longer have cable and when they played on national TV, I had to work. So imagine how excited I was that CBS decided to stop broadcasting the Marquette/MSU game and switched to the Duke/VCU game. I mean, Duke has had a rought year but I had faith in them. I knew they could pull this one out. But of course, in the last few seconds of the game...my world crashes. Duke loses. Suddenly I had flashbacks to the tournmament in 2002 when Duke played IU and before I knew it, the overwhelming feeling of sadness and misery took over.

you have no idea how dejected i am right now.

okay, i just decided. first full week after classes are finished, i'm taking a week long vacation. no work, no volunteering, no hyde park or downtown. just me in my condo, chillaxing.

honestly, i really just want ONE week where i don't have to drive ANYWHERE and can sit on my ass all day and do nothing. that would be ideal.

my head is starting to hurt again. i freaking hate stress.

tomorrow, in between classes, i think i'll make my bracket. this year, for the first time in a LONG time, i'm not going to be the dukie idealist. i know what you're going to say but it's been a sobering year as a fan. i'd be absolutely lying to myself if i thought duke has/had a chance to even make it to the Sweet 16.

Seriously though, in the past few years when I went around trash talking and saying Duke was going to win it all, they were at least ranked in the top 10. Not to mention, in those years where I was trying to convince anyone that would listen that it was going to be Duke's year, they were ranked #1 for at least a day, if not a week! But this year, this year is different and I knew it was going to be different the moment Duke lost last year to LSU. Gosh. I couldn't even bare to watch the last few seconds of the game because I knew what the outcome was going to be. *breathe* okay, i don't want to relive such painful memories...

so I know you're itching (okay, maybe not itching) to see who I put in the Final Four and who I think is going to win it all. Sorry Joakim Noah, but I don't think it's your year again. Mr. Roy Williams is one awfully clever coach and I've been hearing good things about U-Cla. Granted, Florida somehow got placed in a ridiculously easy region in contrast to the rest of the #1 seeds which make me believe the last few years, there was some giant conspiracy to make sure Duke didn't make it to the Final game. Okay, I'll stop.

This weekend is my last weekend of freedom. It'll be nice to spend my last free weekend (until May 19th) watching some tourney ball and eating some good ol' Harold's.

sometimes i wonder how i became a college bball junkie. honestly, it's a mystery.
