2 weeks of summer left. and i'm FINALLY not working at CVS anymore during the week. thank goodness.
i felt kind of bad leaving my pharmacy manager this gigantic note telling him to not schedule me during the work week anymore because i need the next two weeks to gear up for school (total truth. i've been an awful president this past summer and i need the next two weeks to make up for it...and clean my room.) in any case! when i worked last night, my manager said he got the note and everything was cool- he was going to honor my request. yay!
i still felt a lil bad about it though but then this morning, i got 2 e-mails that TOTALLY made me feel OK for asking for the time off.
the first e-mail was to tell me that my manager won the "preceptor of the summer" award and is going to get a trophy. i wasn't sure if he was going to win with my nomination but apparently he did. i was kind of hoping he would get something besides a trophy, like golf balls or something ('cuz he loves golf) but oh well. i'm sure he'll be pleased nonetheless.
the SECOND e-mail was to tell me that my OTC powerpoint presentation on Heartburn was voted as one of the best presentations! craziness! so now I get a gift card. where and how much, i don't know but i can't believe i'm getting something ELSE besides free food and pens from drug reps out of my CVS internship.
why do i blog about this? because now i feel like i actually deserve the time off and i'm hoping my manager is thinking the same thing. commuting back and forth this summer has finally caught up with me i think because i'm utterly exhausted. however, i've been having the HARDEST time sleeping. no joke. i've been waking up at ridiculous times only to force myself back to sleep.
anyhow! this weekend is going to be a low-key, bittersweet weekend. sat i'm off to see my favorite lil toddler who has been battling a nasty lil bug or virus. then sunday, it's hooters to send off one of my MOST FAVORITE DGs. *sniffle*
and of course, next weekend is the big trip. i hope nothing too scandalous happens...ha ha! but i'm excited nonetheless because i might get to see one of my FAVORITE DGs who I haven't seen in forever. so excited.
all right, time to try and get some sleep.
